Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of former President Donald Trump’s closest allies and she continually shows her support for him.
In fact, her name has even been mentioned as a potential running mate for Trump if he should win the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, which he currently leads in the polling.
She took to social media this week following Trump’s appearance on CNN for a town hall to share that she had spoken to him following the event.
The Georgia Republican said she congratulated the 45th president and that they “laughed and laughed” about many of the questions he was asked by moderator Kaitlin Collins and the answers he gave.
“I enjoyed congratulating President Trump on his outstanding town hall and undefeated record against CNN,” Greene said, adding, “We laughed and laughed.”
Throughout the town hall, the lawmaker shared several clips and praised the 45th president for his performance.
“President Trump disproves the CNN lie right on stage. Pulls out the receipts! This man is unstoppable!” she tweeted.

MTG also clapped back at Democratic House colleague Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who ripped CNN for agreeing to provide Trump with a town hall forum.
“You hate free speech and want to control the press. Your brand is fading, old, unattractive, and stale,” she wrote.
For it’s part, CNN defended the decision to provide Trump a forum.
ACNN spokesperson told Mediaite: “Tonight, Kaitlan Collins exemplified what it means to be a world-class journalist. She asked tough, fair, and revealing questions. And she followed up and fact-checked President Trump in real time to arm voters with crucial information about his positions as he enters the 2024 election as the Republican frontrunner.
“That is CNN’s role and responsibility: to get answers and hold the powerful to account,” the spokesperson added.
