House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who is on pace to replace House Speaker Nancy Pelosi next month, put several Obama administration officials on notice that they are likely to receive congressional subpoenas after Republicans take control of the chamber.

Specifically, the California Republican says the party will want to know why Obama-era intelligence officials falsely suggested that information discovered on Hunter Biden’s laptop was ‘Russian disinformation.’

“This is egregious what we are finding. Those 51 intel agents that signed a letter that said the Hunter Biden information was all wrong — was Russia collusion — many of them have a security clearance,” he told Fox News on Sunday.

“We are going to bring them before committee, we are going to subpoena them before committee. Why did they sign it? Why did they lie to the American public? A [James] Clapper, a [John] Brennan?” he added. “Why did you use the reputation that America was able to give to you more information, but use it for a political purpose and lie to the American public?”

His remarks come as Elon Musk’s “Twitter Files” releases of internal communications indicate that the platform worked in collusion with the federal government to squelch information, including findings regarding the laptop ahead of the 2020 election, according to Fox News.

Last month, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicted that McCarthy would follow outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lead and run the chamber in a similar manner, including kicking Democrats off committees.

“I think Nancy Pelosi set the precedent. She did something that had never been done before and reached into the minority party to decide who could and could not serve on some committees. I think Kevin McCarthy is following her precedent,” he told Fox News.

“So the Democrats have nothing to complain about because they started this dance and frankly, the three people he’s picked so totally deserve to be kicked off committees. It’s unbelievable,” he continued.
