Republicans should have won more seats than they did during the 2022 midterms, but they didn’t because they weren’t more like Democrats, a growing number of analysts say.

The Democrats have refined ballot harvesting, curing, mail-in votes and more into an art form.
Their 2020 presidential win, for Joe Biden, reportedly drew more votes – by millions – than even the popular Barack Obama got a few years earlier. This result for a candidate who rarely left his basement, stumbled over every other sentence when he did, and often appeared to need a handler when he was on stage.
Some states now use mail-in ballots as their ONLY voting procedure.
So are Republicans now going to join in that movement?
According to a report in Just the News, the party, in fact, has reversed course from recent years and now is working on strategies for winning with those very tools.
Party officials repeatedly have warned about the dangers from universal mail-in ballots, ballot curing and ballot harvesting – all of which make fraud easier.
But the fact is Democrats have been utilizing those very procedures to win, the report said.
Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., who lost his race with Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul in New York, said, “How to weaken ballot integrity through the US: Ballot Harvesting, Universal Mail-In Voting, Ineligible Voters Registering and Voting, People Voting Where They Barely Reside (If At All), Allowing Ballot Defects to Be Cured In Some Areas of a State But Not Others.”
But he also sent an email to Republican committee members about running for chair of the organization.
He explained, “It is time for our party to retool, transform, win back the Presidency in 2024, expand our number of Republican held seats in Congress, and elect the maximum number of down ballot races across the country.”
He added, “The Republican Party needs to be all in to do everything in its power to save America. The Democratic Party seems to be all in to do whatever they need to do to save themselves, wrecking the country and imposing their radical ideology on us all.”
Also, one of the key players in the conservative plans for America, Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk, said, “The Rubicon has been crossed. I don’t like it, but its [sic] time to win. We will build the most sophisticated and aggressive legal ballot harvesting operation in America and never let this garbage happen again.”
He noted, “The House of Representatives is GOP-controlled thanks to how we performed in states with the most liberal ballot harvesting and vote by mail laws — New York, Oregon, California. We can master this system. Democrats are praying that we refuse to try.”
