CNN continues to struggle mightily for viewers, which is why the network continues to shift personnel and fire hosts.
One of the most recent changes: Moving Don Lemon off his primetime evening show and adding him to a newly revamped morning show lineup.
Turns out, that isn’t working out well, either. In fact, the ratings were down from the previous show despite CNN heavily promoting the new show. The new morning show co-hosts are Lemon, Poppy Harlow, and Kaitlan Collins.
CNN This Morning on Tuesday drew 387,000 total viewers and 71,000 viewers in the advertiser-critical 25-54 age demographic. That was down from the 404,000 total viewers and 78,000 demo viewers CNN’s New Day averaged in October.
CNN “New Day” — the previous morning show — was canceled for bad ratings.
Meanwhile, Fox News’ morning show, “Fox & Friends,” averaged 1.4 million total viewers in October and 211,000 demo viewers on Wednesday. MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” meanwhile, averaged 883,000 total viewers and 100,000 in the demo.
CNN’s new morning show, “CNN This Morning” bombs. Only 387,000 total viewers watched the premier yesterday. That’s less than the average daily 404,000 viewers the old CNN morning show, “New Day”, had in October. pic.twitter.com/qgHlINq434

According to Fox News:
“FNC’s signature morning show FOX & Friends (weekdays, 6-9 AM/ET) finished October with 1.4 million viewers and 211,000 in the demo, easily outpacing CNN’s New Day in its final month and MSNBC’s Morning Joe combined across both categories.
“In fact, the program beat every offering on CNN in total viewers and in the 25-54 demo.
“FOX & Friends continues to make its mark as the number one cable news program in the mornings in both categories for the 19th consecutive month.
“On Sundays, FNC’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo (Sundays, 10 AM/ET) earned the top-rated spot across the board, with 1.7 million viewers and 195,000 with A25-54.
“At 8 PM/ET, Life Liberty and Levin earned 1.6 million viewers and 127,000 in the demo, marking the number one program in primetime.”
'@CNN This Morning' Sees Terrible Ratings Debut – "Despite considerable promotion and an all-star trio of new hosts, the debut of the new show was actually down from the recent average of New Day, its ratings-challenged predecessor." https://t.co/0DKHj13TZf
