Actor Dean Cain came to the defense of friend and fellow actor and comedian Tim Allen after the latter triggered leftists on Twitter.
On Monday, Allen, best known for his “Home Improvement” series and voiceovers in the “Toy Story” franchise, wrote on the platform: “Who is the face of woke. Do wokees have a club house in someone’s backyard or maybe a cute yet safe playpen somewhere?”
That led to outrage from leftists, but it also led Cain to stick up for Allen during a “Fox & Friends” interview Tuesday.
“He’s incredibly funny, he’s incredibly accomplished, he’s uncancellable and that makes people on Twitter and elsewhere go bananas,” Cain told the outlet. “He’s achieved huge fame and can say what he wants to.
“Everyone’s looking to be offended by everything. It’s complete victim culture. That’s your new red badge of courage. Comedy is supposed to make fun of those in power,” Cain added.
“That’s the whole idea. The woke mob’s message is shut your mouth, stay in line, or you’ll be canceled,” the “Superman” actor continued.
“The weird, ironic thing to me is that those who are screaming about inclusivity and acceptance, they want dissenting voices silenced. They do not want free speech, and that’s the definition of fascism,” said Cain.
