Karoline Leavitt Has A New Role And You’re Going to Love It

Text size

Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has a new role and no doubt it’s going to get a lot of her supporters excited.

Leavitt is joining Fox News as a contributor less than two months after stepping down from President Donald Trump’s administration following the birth of her second child. Leavitt, 29, has reached an agreement to appear on the cable news network as a political contributor, the New York Post reported Sunday, citing sources familiar with the arrangement.

The move would give Leavitt a prominent television platform heading into the final month before the Nov. 3 midterm elections. Leavitt stepped down as White House press secretary in August after giving birth to her second child. She said at the time that she wanted to devote more time to her growing family and emphasized that her decision was not the result of a falling out with Trump or his administration.

Trump publicly praised Leavitt following her departure and said he expected her to remain involved in Republican politics and his political operation.

“Karoline has done an incredible job as Press Secretary,” Trump said at the time, describing her as a “STAR” and saying she would continue helping the administration and Republican candidates from outside the White House.

Although Leavitt gave up the demanding full-time White House position, she has remained politically active. She has continued speaking publicly in support of Trump and Republican candidates and has appeared at political events during the run-up to the midterms.

Leavitt has also remained involved with MAGA Inc., the Trump-aligned super PAC that has played a significant role in supporting the president’s political agenda and Republican candidates. Her continued involvement has allowed her to maintain a political presence without returning to the daily schedule associated with serving as White House press secretary.

Leavitt recently appeared at a Republican midterm convention in Texas, where she criticized Democrats and pushed back against concerns among Republicans about the approaching midterms. She has argued that Republican voters should focus on turnout rather than predictions about historical midterm trends, while promoting Trump’s record and the GOP’s congressional candidates.

Her reported Fox News role would provide another avenue for those appearances, although contributors generally appear as commentators rather than representatives of a political campaign or administration. The move would also mark a return to television for someone who became one of the Trump administration’s most recognizable media figures.

Leavitt made history when she became the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history at 27. She took over the briefing room after Trump returned to office in January 2025 and quickly established herself as one of the administration’s most visible spokespeople.
