Trump Entourage Chased While Speeding 98 MPH In ‘The Beast’

President Trump's motorcade reached nearly 100 mph driving from Denton, Texas, to Durant, Oklahoma, after stormy weather grounded Marine One and forced a last-minute road trip to a campaign rally.

When bad weather grounded Marine One, President Trump did what any normal person would do: he told the Secret Service to put the pedal to the floor and hit 98 mph across the Texas-Oklahoma border. Trump’s motorcade drove from Denton, Texas, to Durant, Oklahoma, after storms made flying impossible, with media traveling alongside clocking the presidential convoy at nearly 100 miles per hour.

The two cities sit about 90 miles apart, which means the Beast was covering ground at a pace that would make most state troopers very uncomfortable and most NASCAR drivers mildly impressed. Trump would normally have taken Marine One for the short hop, but the weather had other plans.

Trump on Truth Social: “Get Your A**, in That Car”

Never one to let a storm win, Trump posted on Truth Social mid-drive with a message that belongs in a presidential time capsule. “To the Great People of Oklahoma, stay tuned, I’ll be there soon! There was a major weather delay, and the planes and helicopters were not able to land, so we’re driving up from Texas,” he wrote. “They wanted me to postpone the event, and I said, ‘NO WAY, I’M GOING TO OKLAHOMA!’ ‘The Beast’ is going faster than it has ever gone before.”

At the rally, Trump gave the crowd the full behind-the-scenes breakdown. “I said, ‘What can I take?'” he told supporters. “I said, ‘How fast does the Beast travel?’ They said, ‘We could go close to 100 miles per hour.'” His response, delivered to a cheering crowd: “I said, ‘Get your a, es in that car. We’re going to Oklahoma.'”

With Trump’s Oklahoma rally road trip drawing national attention, it is worth noting that plenty of supporters traveled across the state and waited in the rain just to be there, which makes the whole 98-mph effort feel entirely appropriate.

Winning All 77 Counties Three Times Is Apparently a Good Enough Reason

Trump arrived roughly two hours late but made clear he had no intention of skipping out. He explained his motivation with characteristic modesty, noting that he has won Oklahoma all three times he ran for president, received the most votes in state history each time, and carried all 77 out of 77 counties. So really, showing up was the least he could do.

The rally was held in support of Oklahoma GOP gubernatorial nominee Mike Mazzei, with U.S. Senate nominee Kevin Hearn and Oklahoma State Treasurer candidate Cindy Byrd also on hand. Trump called on supporters to vote for the Republican ticket and told the crowd to treat November like his own name was on the ballot.

What happens next is an Oklahoma governor’s race that now has the unusual distinction of featuring a presidential endorsement delivered at approximately 98 miles per hour. Trump heads back to the campaign trail, the Beast presumably gets a well-deserved oil check, and somewhere a Marine One pilot is staring at a weather radar feeling very judged.
