Fled to Ireland. Must be something to the ‘O’Donnell’ name, I guess. Still, following through on a threat to leave our country shouldn’t and doesn’t protect her from being widely bodied when she opens her rather sizeable mouth and something insane comes out of it.
From her new home in Ireland, O’Donnell logged onto TikTok this week and accused the United States government of running concentration camps where children are raped and impregnated in custody — and strongly implied that ICE agents themselves are the rapists. “Who has access to those girls?” she asked, after describing detainees separated by sex. It was not framed as a question about policy. It was an accusation of mass sexual assault leveled at named federal employees, offered without a shred of evidence.
That distinction is the whole thing, and it’s why the Department of Homeland Security’s response was as blunt as it was. A DHS spokesman called the claims disgusting, reckless, and categorically false, and then made a point that ought to travel further than O’Donnell’s video did: words like these have consequences for the people they’re aimed at. According to DHS, assaults on ICE officers are up dramatically, vehicular attacks and death threats even more so. When a celebrity with a large platform tells the world that federal agents are child rapists, she is not merely venting. She is painting a target, and someone eventually aims at it.

DHS didn’t pull any punches:
“These celebrities remain quiet about the humanitarian crisis that was manufactured by the Biden administration’s open border policies and the several hundred thousand children exploited, trafficked, and missing on their watch. Under President Trump, ICE is dedicated to locating these unaccompanied children that came through the border under Biden. Sadly, extremely unstable, TDS-suffering lunatic Rosie O’Donnell — who fled the country in protest of President Trump’s historic, landslide reelection — would rather spin fake news that benefits the traffickers, smugglers, and rapists than acknowledge the nightmare so many children lived under Democrat control.”
The word O’Donnell reached for makes it worse. “Concentration camp” is not a throwaway insult; it’s a deliberate invocation of industrialized murder, and applying it to immigration detention is both historically illiterate and an insult to the people who died in the real ones. DHS called the comparison lazy and deranged. That’s fair. It’s the rhetorical equivalent of shouting the worst word you know and hoping the volume substitutes for proof.
There’s also a striking selectivity in who earns this kind of outrage. The genuine humanitarian scandal at the border — the hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied children who came through under the previous administration’s policies, many of whom ended up trafficked, exploited, or simply lost by the government meant to track them — has never produced a Rosie O’Donnell TikTok. That crisis is real, documented, and ongoing, and it generates silence from the same voices now manufacturing atrocities on camera.
O’Donnell is entitled to hate the administration; that’s her right, from Ireland or anywhere else. What she is not entitled to is accusing specific public servants of raping children and calling it speaking truth to power. There’s a name for saying someone commits monstrous crimes without proof. It isn’t activism.
