So, Something Really Good Has Happened to The Military Under Trump and Hegseth

During the dismal Biden years, America’s military forces suffered mightily. No, they weren’t being defeated on distant battlefields. Rather, they were essentially being beaten by a domestic force they might not have seen coming: Democrats.

Under Biden’s Bros, they turned our military in a force of woke DEI nonsense. LGBTQ and trans were the orders of the day. No thought about what politicizing the force would do to it or to the country’s national security.

I’ll tell you what it did: Precisely what Biden’s woke Bros wanted to happen: It became persona non grata to a vast portion of our young people who were considering military service until they saw they’d have share quarters with men and women confused about their gender.

They didn’t want to be led by dudes like this:

Admiral "Rachel" Levine: "Climate change is having a disproportionate effect on black communities."

Times have since changed, and dramatically. As Congress considers codifying President Trump’s executive order changing the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War, there has been a dramatic uptick in recruiting across all service branches:

The rebrand seems to have come at the right time, after years of alarming shortfalls that left the services struggling to fill ranks; military recruiting has staged a remarkable turnaround. In fiscal year 2025, every branch met or exceeded its active-duty goals for the first time in years. The Army hit 101.7 percent of its 61,000 target with 62,050 recruits. The Navy crushed its goal, reaching 108.6 percent. The Air Force, Marines, and Space Force all cleared their marks as well.

The momentum has carried into 2026 as the Army announced it reached its recruiting goal more than four months early. The Air Force and Space Force hit theirs five months ahead of schedule. Prior years told a different story. Multiple branches missed targets in 2022 and 2023, which is something Sen. Tuberville and other critics attributed to perceptions of a force more focused on internal politics and “woke” policies than warfighting.

Applications and propensity to serve among young Americans had eroded. By contrast, the U.S. armed forces have undergone a rebound under Hegseth that reflects a renewed focus, clearer mission emphasis, and a return to prioritizing lethal readiness; it’s clear he believes a proper name is essential to this rebuild.

Despite the recruiting renaissance, Hegseth and the president continue to be dogged by America Last Democrats and their commie ways. They continue to resist making the military great again because doing so strengthens a core pillar of American society, which they work every day to tear down.

We now have Democrats, like Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, actually voting against the annual military funding bill because of the name change. How petty and small-minded.
