Democrats’ Big Midterm Plan: More Trump Hearings, Fewer Solutions

If Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections, conservatives already know what is coming. Democratic lawmakers have made little effort to hide their intentions.

Rather than focusing on inflation, border security, crime, energy costs, or the national debt – issues they claim to care about – many are openly discussing new investigations into President Donald Trump, his administration, and the people who support him.

That should concern every American, regardless of political affiliation, because our country has issues that need addressed, all of which will be sacrificed at the altar of Democratic political theater.

Congress possesses enormous investigative powers, but those powers were never intended to serve as political weapons. Yet that is exactly how many voters increasingly view them after years of investigations, subpoenas, hearings, special counsels, impeachments, and criminal prosecutions directed at Trump and his allies.

The American people elected Trump to govern. They did not elect Congress to spend the next two years trying to overturn election results through endless investigations and impeachment proceedings.

Most voters want lawmakers focused on securing the border, lowering costs, strengthening the economy, and addressing public safety. They are tired of Washington’s obsession with partisan warfare.

The threat of another impeachment campaign is particularly troubling. Impeachment was designed by the Founders as an extraordinary constitutional remedy for serious misconduct, not a routine political tactic to be deployed whenever the opposition controls the House. When impeachment becomes just another partisan tool, it weakens the institution and erodes public trust in government.

House Democrats want 2029 to be the year of reckoning for Trump administration officials.

Democrats have long accused top members of President Trump’s team of violating laws across a wide range of activities, from deadly immigration raids and strikes on alleged drug boats, to financial self-dealing and targeting Trump’s political enemies for prosecutions.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has not pursued those cases, the Democrats contend, only because the president’s loyalists control the agency. In many cases, they say, the DOJ itself is guilty of the wrongdoing.

But Trump won’t be in power forever. And while the Supreme Court has granted immunity to presidents, shielding Trump from prosecutions related to his time in office, the dispensation does not extend to other administration officials. With that in mind, Democrats are already clamoring for the next administration, Democratic or Republican, to launch investigations into Trump officials — and prosecute them in cases of demonstrated criminal wrongdoing.

The Domestic Terrorist Party believes that investigations and impeachment efforts will energize their political base. I’m sure that’s true. Their voters are as unhinged as their leaders are. But they also risk sending a message that they learned nothing from the political battles of the past decade.

The fact is, many Americans are exhausted by the constant cycle of accusations, hearings, leaks, and political drama. And let’s remember, Trump did win a majority of votes.

Meanwhile, the nation’s challenges continue to mount. The border remains a national security concern, though Trump’s policies ended Biden’s mass migration nightmare. Government spending continues to rise. America’s adversaries are growing more aggressive abroad. Families are still struggling with the cost of living.

Those are the issues voters care about.

If Democrats win the House and immediately launch a new round of investigations and impeachment efforts against Trump, many Americans are likely to see it not as oversight but as political retaliation. Congress should be focused on solving problems, not settling scores.

The country needs leadership and results—not another chapter in the Democrats’ endless campaign of partisan revenge. More reasons to never allow these political terrorists one ounce of power ever again.
