Former President Donald Trump is heading for an indictment on Tuesday, making history — again — as the first commander-in-chief to be charged with a crime.
And although the vast majority of fair-minded Americans know the charges are bogus, Trump plans to use them to propel himself even higher in the 2024 GOP presidential sweepstakes, according to sources.
Jason Miller discussed Trump’s plan with Newsmax on Sunday morning: “President Trump is very emboldened; he’s very strong; he feels the support from all the people who are backing him. So tomorrow, on Monday, he’ll be flying up to New York – of course heading down the courthouse on Tuesday morning.
“And then – it’s going to be announced here very shortly – President Trump is going to be giving a speech on Tuesday night at Mar-a-Lago 8:15 p.m. I think the entire world will be watching just how strong and just how fervent he is, that we must continue this Make America Great Again movement, because you can’t have Trump policies without President Trump,” he added.
Trump will also speak to his America First supporters during a press event after he is formally arrested, booked, and makes his initial court appearance, the Washington Times reported.
Trump will tell his supporters that, in reality, the ‘deep state’ is coming after them through him.
“The Deep State will use anything at their disposal to shut down the one political movement that puts YOU first,” Trump said in a social media message in which he also sought campaign donations.
“Mr. Trump’s supporters believe the indictment will backfire on notoriously liberal Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and propel Mr. Trump to the presidency in 2024. They think it will energize not just Mr. Trump’s base in the Make America Great Again movement but also a broader coalition of Republicans and independents,” the Times noted. “Mr. Trump is expected to arrive in New York on Tuesday for an unprecedented perp walk, fingerprinting, mugshot and post-arraignment press conference.”
Support for the 45th president has grown immensely since Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced the indictment on Thursday.

He is also now well ahead of his next closest GOP rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to a Yahoo/YouGov poll released on Saturday.
