Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis says someone filed a fraudulent voter registration in her name in New York City, listing her as a Republican who lives at Trump Tower. You honestly cannot make this stuff up.

Willis told WSB-TV investigative reporter Mark Winne she first found out when the New York City Board of Elections sent her a notice saying a registration in her name was being canceled because officials suspected it was fraudulent. The registration application was not filled out or signed by her.

“It came to my attention that someone registered to vote as me in New York,” Willis said. “Interestingly enough, they registered me as a Republican that lived in Trump Tower, of all places.” So whoever pulled this prank went ahead and gave her a luxury Fifth Avenue address and a party upgrade she definitely did not ask for.

According to Willis, Fani Willis fraudulent voter registration the application contained multiple false details, including her date of birth, her political party affiliation, and her signature. The bogus form listed Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue as her residence and the Fulton County Courthouse as her mailing address.

Willis says she has been a lifelong Democrat, so being registered as a Republican was, shall we say, not accurate. She also said the signature on the form was forged. Her office is now in contact with a prosecutor in New York to determine whether criminal charges will be pursued.

The New York City Board of Elections told Willis that if anyone had tried to vote using the registration, they would have been required to show identification or proof of residence. The board confirmed it has no record of any votes being cast under the registration and canceled it after reviewing the case.

“I’ve been threatened and harassed,” Willis said. “But somebody in this case apparently committed a crime to harass you? Absolutely.” She says she is relieved no vote was actually cast in her name and wants to make sure there is no confusion about her voting eligibility back in Georgia.

Her office is working with New York prosecutors to figure out who did this and whether charges will follow. Whoever pulled this stunt managed to commit election fraud, forge a signature, and give Fani Willis a Trump Tower address all in one shot. Overachievers, really.
