During a recent concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Metallica front man James Hetfield stated from the stage that the band will not use its performances to voice political opinions or influence fans.
Speaking to the crowd during the band’s Life Burns Faster residency, Hetfield stated that Metallica’s priority is to provide an escape from outside events.
Hetfield explicitly told the audience, “Metallica is not here, like some other entertainers, to influence you with their bulls—, OK? We’re here to forget about all the outside s—, OK? Metallica’s agenda is love, energy and heavy music, baby!”
The comments follow a strict, long-held personal policy by Hetfield to keep his political viewpoints private, as he has previously stated that politics and religion serve to separate people. While other members of Metallica, including Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett, have occasionally expressed personal, left-leaning political views outside of concerts, the band maintains a collective, apolitical stance during their live performances.
Metallica is insanely famous around the world and doesn’t need to voice political views on stage, the way it should be. Talk about taking a dump on the woke entertainers who think their opinions matter. They don’t matter and they’re very annoying, too.
This is how it should be.
Metallica for the win.
Meanwhile, Jelly Roll can rot in a dumpster with his dumb political views.

Then you have guys like Jelly Roll doing a four-night guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and using it to talk bad about President Donald Trump. Why not just tell some good jokes, make everyone laugh, and leave the show with a bunch of new fans?
That makes too much sense. Blabbering Jelly Donut lost thousands of fans because of the poorly written monologue jokes he made regarding President Donald Trump’s weight and physical fitness. Let’s not forget that Jelly Roll was the size of a mini-van at one point, but then he lost weight and most people believe it wasn’t done naturally. If you think that guy just started eating right and went to the gym, then you’d be lying to yourself.
If I’m wrong, then I’ll buy him a jelly donut.
The musician, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, used his opening monologues during the week of August 24, 2026, to critique recent headlines. Referencing a Washington Post report that Trump had gained 14 pounds, Jelly Roll, who recently documented losing 300 pounds, stated that his own weight loss was equivalent to losing “an entire Donald Trump.
He also referred to the commentary as “fat-on-fat crime.” I guess that’s what happens when liberals write the jokes, because this one bombed worse than a Rosie O’Donnell cannon ball in a shallow pool.
The segments drew immediate criticism from conservative media outlets and Trump supporters, with critics labeling the country singer a “traitor” and a “liberal snowflake” – and they were correct.
Conversely, his previous appearance and handshake with Trump at a White House UFC event in June 2026 had historically drawn criticism from Trump opponents. So which one is it, Jelly boy?
On his final night hosting on August 27, 2026, Jelly Roll delivered a serious concluding monologue to address the conflicting political labels projected onto him. He explicitly rejected complete alignment with any political party or late-night platform.
“Just because I watched a fight on TV, doesn’t mean I support everything this administration does,” DeFord stated during the broadcast. “Just like how hosting Jimmy Kimmel’s show doesn’t mean I have all of Jimmy Kimmel’s politics.”
So how about this? Watch the fight and enjoy it. Go on the show and enjoy it – but keep the politics out of it so you don’t turn off half of your fan base?
The singer stated that out of respect for his late veteran father, he would always shake the hand of a sitting president regardless of political affiliation. Describing his broader personal views, he stated, “Sure I lean left on some things, but like most folks I’m pretty down the middle.” He identified his core background as a Christian, a country music singer, a farmer, and a bow hunter.
DeFord concluded the broadcast by critiquing political leadership across both major American parties, stating that “leaders on both sides of the aisle are doing an absolute sh-t job of trying to bring us together.”
He’s right, but he also participated in that mess, so he’s not living up to his own words. But hey, he’s got a face full of bad tattoos, so you already know he’s keen to make bad decisions.
I’ll take Metallica over Jelly donuts any day of the week – and I don’t even care what his views are. I respect James because he respects us.
