Actor Keegan Allen, best known for Pretty Little Liars, posted a graphic video to social media late Thursday night showing his face covered in blood after being beaten and robbed at gunpoint in West Hollywood. The 37-year-old said two men confronted him on the 8400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, near Holloway Drive, and took his Rolex.
In the video, Allen described it simply. “I was just robbed of my watch outside Laurel Supply,” he said. “These two dudes hit me in the head and pointed a gun at me with a knife and then took off.” He also posted what appeared to be surveillance footage of the confrontation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the details in a statement, saying, “One suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim while the other pointed a knife and demanded the victim’s watch and bracelet. Shortly after, the victim was struck in the face with the handgun.” L.A. County firefighter-paramedics responded and evaluated Allen at the scene, though he was not taken to a hospital.
Allen did not hold back in his social media caption, and he had some pointed words for California’s leadership. “West Hollywood is not safe anymore,” he wrote. “Robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men that threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have! God said no tonight. My life for a watch.” He went on to call out Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass directly, writing, “Let’s hope all these flock cameras that @karenbassla @gavinnewsom and everyone thinks will stop crime can find these very dangerous criminals.
Fair question. California has thrown plenty of money and political speeches at its crime problem, and yet here is a man with a bloody face on social media asking the governor if the cameras work. You can check the West Hollywood robbery report for the full account of the incident.
No arrests have been made, and detailed suspect descriptions were not available. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at the sheriff’s West Hollywood station at (310) 855-8850.
Allen closed his post with “God bless,” which is a lot more generous than most people would feel after getting pistol-whipped for a watch. Let’s hope those flock cameras are pointed in the right direction. Drop your thoughts in the comments or share this on social media.
