ICE’s New Shock Glove Has Criminals Complying After One Zap

ICE is set to receive 6,000 pairs of high-tech shock gloves after an Army study found they stopped violent resistance in seconds. The left is furious, naturally.

ICE is about to get a new tool called the GLOVE, a pair of shock gloves that delivers a painful electric jolt to anyone violently resisting arrest, and it works so well that one Army test found participants stopped fighting within seconds. The agency signed a $16.7 million contract to purchase 6,000 pairs back in August, and the left has been in full meltdown mode ever since.

The Army ran its test at the military prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, in October 2024. Several large-statured men played the role of combative prisoners, and after a single shock, they stopped resisting immediately. The study found they were left with “fatigue, soreness and excessive apprehensiveness to being shocked again.” Even better, the authors noted that “after experiencing the effects of the GLOVE, participants stated just seeing the GLOVE was enough to make them want to comply.” So it’s basically a compliance tool that might not even need to be used once word gets around.

ICE leaders knew about those findings before signing the contract, according to records obtained by the watchdog group American Oversight and shared with the Associated Press. You can review the Army study on ICE shock gloves to understand exactly what the agency was working with before it pulled the trigger on that purchase.

Critics on the left say the gloves could be used to “intimidate and brutalize” people, and Chioma Chukwu of American Oversight said the military assessment “does not establish that they are safe.” Of course, nobody is suggesting ICE agents tickle violent suspects into submission. The manufacturer does note the gloves shouldn’t be used on children, pregnant women, or disabled people, which is a reasonable restriction that nobody on the right is arguing with.

What the critics always leave out is what ICE agents are actually walking into every day. Back in 2025, Kristi Noem pointed out that death threats against ICE personnel had exploded by 8,000 percent, writing that “every day, our ICE officers are making our schools, streets, and neighborhoods safer by removing vicious criminal illegal aliens.” More recently, social media accounts highlighted the case of Jesus Israel Garcia Cobarruvias, who was deported three times, kept coming back, and then allegedly rammed officers in August, leaving one agent unable to walk without assistance. He reportedly had a record of domestic violence, burglary, and obstruction.

That’s the reality on the ground. Agents are dealing with suspects who run, fight, ram vehicles, and attack officers, plus violent protesters trying to injure them. A tool that produces instant compliance in a dangerous struggle sounds like exactly what the situation calls for. The left can keep calling it barbaric from the comfort of their offices while ICE agents go out and do the job. If seeing a glove makes a violent suspect decide cooperation is the smarter play, that’s not brutality. That’s common sense.
