Trump Just Put China On Notice In Race to Master AI

Text size

President Donald Trump is bound and determined to preserve American global surpremacy in spite of the Democrats and RINOs aligned against him.

Trump announced Saturday that he plans to create a new federal “AI Force” aimed at supporting the development of artificial intelligence while addressing potential abuses of the rapidly advancing technology.

Trump compared the initiative to the creation of the U.S. Space Force during his first term and said he would soon appoint a new “AI czar” to help oversee the effort. The president did not provide details about the new entity’s structure, authority or whether it would operate as a civilian or military organization.

Trump said his administration does not intend to “hinder or stifle” the growth of the AI industry, arguing that existing criminal and civil laws can be used to address misconduct associated with the technology. He also predicted that artificial intelligence could eventually account for as much as 25% of the U.S. economy.

The announcement comes as policymakers and technology executives debate whether additional safeguards are necessary as increasingly powerful AI systems are developed. Trump has emphasized maintaining the United States’ advantage over China and has argued that excessive regulation could undermine American leadership in the industry.
