This is what law enforcement looks like when Washington actually wants it to work.
Kash Patel announced Thursday that 81 members of “Los Baja Deo” — a Mayagüez-based transnational criminal organization — have been indicted on drug trafficking and firearms charges after a massive coordinated operation. Thirteen SWAT teams, FBI aviation assets, the Homeland Security Task Force, and state and local partners combined forces to dismantle the gang’s leadership and shut down its distribution network.
The scale of what they were dealing: at least 340 kilograms of fentanyl or fentanyl-laced narcotics. At least 2,200 kilograms of cocaine. More than $49 million in illicit proceeds. Twenty-one firearms seized. They were using the U.S. Postal Service — the same service responsible for mailing federal election ballots — as a drug pipeline into the continental United States.
That last detail deserves attention. A gang was running drugs through the mail. Not some exotic transport mechanism — the United States Postal Service. The same government infrastructure. And it worked, until it didn’t.
AG Todd Blanche said what needed to be said: “These transnational criminal organizations should understand the message: this FBI and our partners are bringing every available resource to the fight.”
Patel’s statement captured what this FBI is in 2026 versus what it was under Biden: a coordinated, aggressive, mission-focused institution. “Thirteen SWAT teams, CIRG aviation assets, FBI San Juan personnel, the Homeland Security Task Force, DOJ, and our state and local law enforcement partners came together to dismantle the organization’s leadership, disrupt its distribution network, and shut down another major drug pipeline poisoning American communities.”

Compare that to the Biden FBI, which was using its resources to open criminal investigations of sitting presidents, run Operation Round River to bury Biden corruption as “Russian disinformation,” build a Foreign Influence Task Force that briefed Republican senators as Kremlin stooges, and conduct surveillance of the incoming Trump team through FISA warrants on fabricated Steele Dossier allegations.
That FBI had resources. It allocated them toward protecting Democrats and attacking Republicans. This FBI is allocating them toward transnational criminal organizations that are poisoning American communities with fentanyl.
The results speak for themselves. Fentanyl deaths dropped 22 percent in 2025 — 10,000 Americans who didn’t die. Cartel income is down 75 percent. ICE just had its biggest arrest month ever. The DOJ has confiscated nearly $50 million in drug proceeds from a single Puerto Rico operation. And the FBI is running 13-SWAT-team operations against gang networks that thought the U.S. mail was a safe drug pipeline.
If convicted, the defendants face a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison, plus forfeiture of the $49 million in illicit proceeds. This is what America voted for. The Trump administration is delivering it.
