Oh she of Palestinian descent, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, obviously has no love for America. Daily does she trash it, leaving millions of us asking the obvious question: Why are you still here?
Granted, she was born in Michigan, but she has such an obvious disdain for our country, you can’t help but wonder why she tortures herself daily existing in such a ‘flawed’ nation. But I digress.
You know what else Tlaib has a disdain for? The truth. Twelve years after the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, Rep. Rashida Tlaib took to social media Friday to call it “murder” and tie it to “white supremacy, police violence, and mass incarceration.”
There’s one problem. Barack Obama’s Department of Justice — the least sympathetic possible source for a defense of the officer involved — conducted an exhaustive investigation and concluded the opposite.
Community Notes on X supplied the correction immediately: “Obama’s DOJ found Michael Brown attacked Officer Wilson, struggled over his gun, and charged at him. Physical evidence contradicted ‘hands up, don’t shoot.’ Self-defense justified the shooting. It was not a murder, and there were no federal charges or indictment.”
This is not a Republican talking point. This is the conclusion of the DOJ under Eric Holder — a man who made pursuing civil rights violations in police departments the central project of his tenure. If there had been a case for murder, Holder’s DOJ would have made it. Instead, after months of investigation, physical evidence, witness testimony, and forensic analysis, they concluded the officer acted in self-defense.
The “hands up, don’t shoot” narrative was manufactured. The DOJ said so. The evidence said so. Multiple witnesses who initially supported the narrative later admitted they hadn’t actually seen what they claimed. The most significant physical evidence — consistent with Brown charging the officer rather than surrendering — contradicted the story that became a movement’s founding myth.
Tlaib knows all of this. She has been in Congress. The report exists. It has been public for over a decade. She is either deliberately misleading her followers or she genuinely doesn’t care that the foundational claim of “hands up, don’t shoot” was debunked by Obama’s own Justice Department.
Nick Arama put it plainly: “So either you have to believe she’s ignorant, or she’s consciously spreading a falsehood.” We know the answer, of course, and it’s the latter – because that’s what good little commies do. They tear at the fabric of Western society daily with the ultimate goal of destroying it.
Meanwhile, the consequences of that falsehood are not abstract. The BLM movement that grew from this myth produced billions of dollars in property damage, the targeted assassination of police officers, the “defund the police” movement that gutted law enforcement in American cities, and a 30% surge in homicides between 2019 and 2021 that disproportionately killed the Black Americans the movement claimed to protect.
Tlaib represents Michigan’s 12th Congressional District. Abdul El-Sayed — the DSA Senate nominee whose supporters include a man who says America deserved September 11th — is now the face of her party’s 2026 campaign in that state. She is promoting a 12-year-old disinformation campaign. Obama’s DOJ debunked it. X’s Community Notes caught it instantly.
The myth won’t die because too many people’s power depends on keeping it alive. That’s not activism. That’s how you stoke racial division for political gain while hiding behind the language of justice. You can’t hate trolls like Tlaib enough for what they’re trying to do to our country.
