The White House Government Transparency Task Force released declassified FBI records Wednesday that confirm what conservatives knew and everyone else denied: the FBI ran a coordinated operation to label real Biden corruption evidence as Russian disinformation — not because the evidence was false, but because the evidence was real.
The operation was called “Round River.” FBI analysts launched it during the 2020 election under the cover of fighting “malign foreign influence.” What it actually did was function as the mirror image of Crossfire Hurricane — where Crossfire Hurricane invented a Trump-Russia collusion scandal that never existed, Round River buried documented Biden family corruption by stamping “Russian disinformation” on anyone who touched it.
A recovered FBI spreadsheet cataloged more than six dozen Americans, foreigners, and organizations tied to the Biden-Ukraine scandal. Democrats — including the Bidens, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Barack Obama, and George Soros — were labeled “targets” of Russian disinformation. Conservatives investigating the Bidens — Fox News, One America News, Rudy Giuliani, and Michael Caputo — were branded “conduits” spreading it. Trump’s own Cabinet officials — Bill Barr and Mike Pompeo — were on the conduit list. So were Republican senators Grassley, Johnson, and Graham, along with Devin Nunes and Jim Jordan, for having the audacity to investigate whether Biden corruption allegations were accurate.
Read that list again. The FBI was running a counterintelligence operation designed to discredit everyone — including sitting Cabinet members and United States senators — who was getting close to the truth about Biden family corruption.
Three confidential informants corroborated the Ukraine corruption allegations. One, reporting since 2012, described a Russian intelligence officer’s account of Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky using Hunter Biden to get closer to the Americans as part of a long-term operation. Another described alleged $100 million bribes and CIA pressure on Ukrainian prosecutors to drop the Burisma case. A third had direct contact with Hunter Biden himself. Every one of them was retroactively smeared as a Russian asset. Their information was buried.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed he shut down the Foreign Influence Task Force and is reviewing whether Round River was used to undermine ongoing investigations by focusing selectively on Biden-Ukraine rather than providing a balanced picture of all foreign threats.
This is the answer to the question everyone should have been asking for five years. Why did 51 intelligence officials sign a letter calling the Hunter Biden laptop Russian disinformation? Because the FBI had a running operation that told them to. Why was anyone who questioned Biden-Ukraine corruption labeled a Kremlin stooge? Because Round River built the infrastructure to do exactly that.
Crossfire Hurricane invented a scandal to sink Trump. Round River erased one to save Biden. That’s not a conspiracy theory anymore, if it ever really was.
