Whistleblower Victim: California’s Likely Next Governor Has A Human Trafficking Problem

Her name is Juana Rebecca Perez Santay. She was 17 years old when she crossed the border. Joe Biden’s Health and Human Services boss, now-California Democrat gubernatorial nominee Xavier Becerra, dismantled the agency’s vetting procedures that were supposed to protect her to help facilitate Biden’s four-year border invasion.

She ended up in the hands of child traffickers. She was forced to work 20-hour days with no pay and no water. She slept on a ceramic floor surrounded by men. A drunk man tried to rape her while her sponsor told her to allow it. “Because of the administration of Xavier Becerra, I have been sexually abused,” she said (see the horrendous video below).

She said it on camera. Clearly. With her name attached. Not an anonymous source. Not a whistleblower filing. A real human being, describing in plain words what happened to her because the man now running for governor of California decided that releasing migrant children quickly was more important than verifying where they were going.

What Becerra actually did deserves to be stated plainly — the voters of that state deserve to know every word of it. He didn’t want children held in detention facilities, so he emptied them. He removed the vetting requirements — fingerprints, background checks, home studies — that existed specifically to verify that the adults receiving migrant children were safe. He eliminated the safeguards. He accelerated the releases. And 319,000 children went missing. Over 480,000 unaccompanied minors crossed the border during his tenure.

One hundred forty thousand are still unaccounted for.

This isn’t a partisan talking point. This is documented in HHS Inspector General reports, whistleblower testimony, and the firsthand account of a woman who was trafficked because the system that was supposed to protect her had been deliberately dismantled.

Juana’s final words deserve to be heard by every voter in California:

“Xavier Becerra failed me because he never cared about my safety. I ended up in the hands of child traffickers and I was almost raped. They kept me like a slave, and they didn’t let me talk to my family. If Xavier Becerra were to become governor of California, it would be horrible because I would not want what happened to me to happen to other children.”

“Xavier Becerra, if you are listening to this, why didn’t you protect me?” she asked. Just heartbreaking.

He isn’t listening. He never did. He toured the Pomona Fairplex migrant facility while children inside it were being trafficked and called it “a model” for the country. He ran for governor of California without offering a single word of accountability for 140,000 children who have never been found.

California has a chance to answer Juana’s question at the ballot box. The question is whether enough California voters care about the answer to make a difference.
