They told you the tariffs would destroy the economy. They told you the uncertainty would freeze investment. They told you Americans were losing confidence, pulling back, hunkering down for the storm they were sure was coming.
3.5 million new businesses in the first half of 2026 says otherwise. Thank you, President Trump.
Registered Agents Inc. — a business formation service with no political axe to grind — just released its June 2026 report, and the numbers are striking. The United States added 3,493,381 new businesses in the first six months of the year. That’s 442,000 more than the same period in 2025 — a 12% year-over-year increase. June alone produced 548,000 new business formations, beating the post-pandemic surge of June 2021 and substantially outpacing June 2025.
This isn’t a rounding error. This is the largest wave of new entrepreneurship in recent American history, happening right now, in the middle of active military operations against Iran, amid ongoing trade negotiations, with Democrats on television every single day telling anyone who will listen that the economy is on the verge of catastrophe.
Americans apparently didn’t get the memo.
"How is this possible??" That's what a Democrat would say.
The answer is: "It's easy when you create a business-friendly economy."

Here’s why this number matters more than most economic indicators. Consumer confidence tells you how people feel. Business formation tells you what people do. Starting a business isn’t a survey response — it’s a financial commitment. It means someone put their name on paperwork, opened a bank account, took on personal risk, and decided that the opportunity in front of them was worth more than the security of staying put. You don’t do that if you genuinely believe the economy is collapsing. You do it when you believe the future is worth betting on.
Three and a half million Americans made that bet in the first six months of 2026.
The geographic breakdown adds another layer. Oregon led all states with a 53% year-over-year increase in business formation — driven by construction, manufacturing, and hospitality, industries where skilled workers are increasingly choosing ownership over employment. Mississippi and North Dakota followed at 46% and 44% respectively. These aren’t the coastal tech hubs that typically dominate economic headlines. This is Main Street America deciding that now is the time to build something.
The broader economic picture supports the confidence these numbers reflect. Inflation fell 0.4% in June — the biggest single-month drop in over six years. Private payrolls are running well ahead of the Biden years. Manufacturing is expanding. Toyota just committed $3.6 billion to Texas. TSMC committed $265 billion to Arizona. Wages are rising. And now 3.5 million new businesses in six months.
The doomsday predictions were wrong. They’re almost always wrong when American workers and entrepreneurs are given room to breathe, build, and take risks without the government sitting on their chest.
This is what we voted for. This is what winning looks like.
The left can keep predicting collapse. Americans will keep building businesses. And Trump keeps delivering for the country.
