The Trump administration’s ‘war on woke’ is continuing apace, with the Department of the Interior the latest federal agency to kiss this loser ideology goodbye.
Under Sleepy Joe Biden’s reign, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland embraced one left-wing group after another in a bid to funnel taxpayer dollars to Democrat-friendly organizations. It was infuriating to me that my money was going to these groups, but current Interior Secretary Doug Burgum is blowing up the department’s relationships with them:
The Department of the Interior is cutting 43 partnerships with outside groups it says no longer align with the Trump administration’s priorities, eliminating more than $4 million in planned funding for programs tied to DEI, environmental justice and support services for illegal immigrants.
Led by Secretary Doug Burgum, the department determined the agreements were “operating in direct opposition” to its mission, according to a press release obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital.
Granted, $4 million is a drop in the federal budget bucket. But it’s a lot of money for nearly every other American. And if left-wing groups are using our money to work against the best interests of our country, to heck with that.

It’s grand that these groups are being cut off, but why in the world were they being given federal tax money in the first place?
Another group on the department’s list was The Cultural Landscape Foundation, which it said has a master cooperative agreement with the NPS “to conduct a variety of educational and cultural support activities.” The organization has opposed several administration initiatives, including suing over changes at the Kennedy Center, criticizing plans for a White House ballroom and highlighting cultural landscapes and historic sites it says are threatened by administration actions through its Landslide 2026: Erasing American History initiative.
The list of super woke programs is eye-watering. One environmental group seeks a “total phase out of fossil fuels.” Another brought DEI programs to national parks. Still another gave instructions to people in the country illegally on how not to get arrested by ICE.
What these have to do with national parks and managing natural resources escapes me. But at least Burgum is returing the Interior Department to its original mission, which is not bringing left-wing commie indoctrination to Americans.
