Tulsi Gabbard’s Permanent Replacement Nominated By Trump and Hoo Boy

President Trump has finally named who will nominate as the departing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s replacement. And he’s sure to send Democrats off the deep end.

Trump is tapping United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton for the job, according to Thursday reports.

During Trump 1.0, Clayton was head of the Securities and Exchange Commission.  In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote that “few people anywhere in the Legal Community are respected at the level of Jay” and he wants the Senate to confirm Clayton “as soon as possible.”

Gabbard, you may recall, is stepping down to take care of her husband who has a rare bone cancer. Her last day is June 19.

Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte was tapped by Trump in the interim. He’s been tasked now with reducing the size of the intelligence community and specifically to get rid of deep state holdovers from Democrat regimes.

“I have named William Pulte to be Acting Director of National Intelligence, who will take over on June 19th, and have asked him to execute the immediate and needed downsizing of the office, reverting staff to their home agencies,” Trump posted on Wednesday morning.

Several Democrats were upset by Trump’s choice of Pulte because of course they were. As such, many voted against the three-week extension of FISA Section 702, a foreign surveillance authorization, in the House because of it.

Democrats, you see, would rather blind our intelligence agencies than allow Trump the courtesy of filling roles in his administration.

It’s not clear if Clayton will be confirmed by the Senate, however – or anyone else Trump chooses. Some departing RINOs are mightily ticked off at the president because they are afflicted with the same TDS Democrats suffer from. Time will tell.
