It is beyond maddening to hear Democrats talk about “muh democracy,” like they really support allowing Americans to have real freedom to choose their leaders. If that were the case, they wouldn’t put up so many roadblocks to allowing legitimate free choice. Consider: They don’t like voter ID. They don’t want voters to have to prove they are citizens. They oppose efforts to clean up voter registration rolls – and they love widespread use of mail-in ballots.
And “Election Day?” Nah. They love election season. Because the longer they can drag voting out and the more insecure they can make the process, the more they seem to ‘win.’ That’s not democracy, though, that is the opposite of democracy.
Take what has just happened in the Los Angeles mayor’s race. The morning after last Tuesday’s primary, Republican candidate Spencer Pratt was a solid second-place finisher. In the state’s jungle primary, the top two finishers advance to the general election in November.
But then – something happened. “Late ballot dumps”:

Outlaw election month, outlaw late mail in ballots, and require universal voter ID and citizenship!
Pratt went from a solid second-place finish to third, which will ice him out of the November general. Funny how all the “late ballot dumps” seemed to favor the Democratic socialist who had conceded her initial loss just a few days ago.
President Trump said last week that the DOJ will be taking a good, hard look at California’s shady election system. That’s good because it’s way overdue. The reckless, non-transparent manner in which the most populous state in the country holds elections has to end.
For the sake of real democracy.
