You can usually tell that President Trump has made a good decision by the people who are criticizing it. Most of the time, Trump’s policy and political decisions are opposed, reflexively, by nearly every Democrat because Trump Derangement Syndrome is a real thing, and there’s no treatment for it at TrumpRx.
But just sometimes, you can tell Trump has made a good call by the Republican criticism he receives, and this is one of those occasions.
Earlier today, Trump formally came out in support of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over incumbent RINO Sen. John Cornyn because Trump recognizes, like far too few Republicans do, that we are in a do-or-die fight for the future of America with the Domestic Terrorist Party.
These ‘go along to get along’ Republicans will no longer do; we can’t afford to let up a single day in pushing the MAGA agenda and making the country as Democrat-proof as possible because their party has gone full Marxist-commie-socialist.
With that in mind, Trump chose wisely, and the remaining RINO establishment types are having a hissy fit because it’s quite possible, based on Trump’s endorsement record this election cycle, Cornyn could lose next Tuesday:
A number of establishment Republican senators are voicing displeasure with President Donald Trump’s decision to back Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton against incumbent John Cornyn in the Texas Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
“I don’t understand. He is an ethically challenged individual. John Cornyn is an outstanding senator and deserved in my judgment the president’s support. Obviously it’s the president’s call but I’m disappointed that he did it,” said Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), who is currently running for re-election in a competitive race of her own.
Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) — a longtime Trump critic who votes with Democrats far more often than the majority of her GOP colleagues — described herself as “supremely disappointed” in the endorsement. When asked about Trump’s motivation, she said, “I don’t understand it.”
No, of course you don’t, Lisa, because you’ve always been a squishy Republican and if it weren’t for the trash ‘ranked-choice voting’ in Alaska, you’d have been gone years ago.
But here’s another reason why Trump is supporting Paxton over Cornyn – he’s tired of ‘The GOP Network’ that gets what it wants ‘or else,’ even if it’s no good for the country (remember – we can’t even get a majority of GOPers to support the Save America Act, despite the fact that 80-85 percent of the country, blue and red, want it):
Prior to the endorsement, Senate Republican leaders had lobbied Trump to support Cornyn, citing concerns about the cost and divisiveness of a prolonged primary and potential challenges in the general election. Party leadership spent heavy — approximately $77 million — in the primary race to get Cornyn over the finish line, and have since hinted that they will withhold funds from the general election campaign in an effort to manufacture a Paxton loss out of spite.
Got that? So while the RINO class is already predicting that the left-wing ‘moderate’ pretender Talarico will win Cornyn’s seat, they are prepared to make that prophecy come true by refusing to financially back the president’s choice, Paxton.
You can’t hate these RINO ingrates enough, which is why Trump is trying to get rid of another one after McConnell and Tillis, both of whom are retiring after this year.
