I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of Democratic politicians and their performative posturing when it comes to federal agents doing their jobs. ICE agents were specifically hired to do immigration enforcement, and anyone who interferes is 100 percent wrong, there’s just no two ways about it. What makes it worse when Democrats posture by essentially saying ‘I’m gonna block you, you’re not gonna be able to go certain places or you’ll be arrested’ – they are gaslighting their voters into doing stupid things like trying to run over agents or attack them while armed.
But border czar Tom Homan isn’t having any more of it. He just dropped a deuce on New York’s lunatic governor, Kathy Hochul, after she apparently threatened to block ICE from operating in New York City:
Speaking at a border security expo in Arizona, Homan said he would “flood the streets” with immigration agents in states that take steps to limit cooperation with the federal government. He singled out Hochul’s “Local Cops, Local Crimes Act” legislation, which is currently being considered by lawmakers amid snarled negotiations over the state budget.
“We’re gonna flood the zone,” Homan said in remarks, highlighting the Trump administration’s immigration strategy for the coming year. “You’re gonna see more ICE agents than you’ve ever seen before … because you forced us in this position.”
Homan said ICE will also be targeting “collaterals” — people who weren’t targets of immigration officers but are still living in the U.S. illegally — as part of the next wave of mass deportations.
“I don’t care how long you’ve been here, if you’re here illegally, entered this country illegally, you cheated,” he said in the remarks. “You cheated the system.”
Then, this happened:
He (Homan) met with Hochul shortly after making the remarks, and appeared to back away from a crackdown after that encounter and a meeting between Trump and New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, who took office in January.
Was there some sort of deal struck between Trump and Mamdani? Was Hochul looking to violate that agreement? We may never know, but what we do know is this: Homan isn’t backing off because Trump doesn’t want him to. Also, it sounds like we’re finally entering the true mass deportation stage of these operations, which those of us who voted for it have been patiently waiting for.
Don’t F around with Tom Homan, Gov. Hochul. Because you’ll find out the hard way that immigration enforcement is going to happen in your state, like it or not.
