The American right has always had a problem the left has never had – a faction of our political leadership that doesn’t fully embrace our values and actively works against implementing them via policy. They’re called “Republicans In Name Only” – RINOs, if you will – and even in the age of MAGA, we still have far too many of them.
Case in point: Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, who went out of his way, on CNN no less, to throw his full support behind a man who has been indicted for, among other things, threatening President Donald Trump’s life.
At the end of April, the Justice Department issued an arrest warrant for James Comey, related to his “8647” seashell post on Instagram. At the time, Ellis Boyle, the acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, stated that Comey was facing two felony charges: knowingly and willfully making a threat to kill and inflict bodily harm on the President of the United States, and knowingly and willfully transmitting a communication across interstate and foreign commerce that contained a threat to kill Trump.
But Tillis made it a point in an interview with Jake Tapper to play his RINO role perfectly by taking Comey’s side.
? WTF?! Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) just came out in SUPPORT of disgraced former FBI Director James Comey posting "8647" in the DOJ case, a clear call to take Trump out

It comes in mens and womens and lets your friends know you're happy to express your views and don't care what anyone thinks! Cheers!

Tapper asked, “Do you think posting ‘8647’ is a crime?”
“No,” Tillis replied. “Again, if this prosecution, which is coming from the Eastern District of North Carolina, if this whole case is based on a picture in the sand of a North Carolina beach, it again makes no sense to me. Again, number one, 86 — I used to work in the restaurant industry, and I think 86 actually has its roots … in 86ing the menu or 86ing the product. I can’t find any evidence except some that’s come up after the President made the comment about the movies.”
Sure. It’s a restaurant term. You bet. ’86ing’ someone has no history in, say, targeted killings by the mob or anyone else. And mind you, this comes after three recent attempts on Trump’s life.
8647 is exactly the kind of stupid little wink that lets cowards pretend they meant nothing while everyone knows the point. And Tillis running cover tells you the uniparty instinct is still alive. They protect the machine first.

North Carolina has to do better. This guy is a massive pile of crap. Thank goodness he’s retiring.

We now have Senate RINOs coming out in support of attempting to assassinate the President, of his OWN PARTY no less.
It's a good thing he got chased out of the Senate race. https://t.co/OQRmXkICuF

Not that Tillis cares – he’s too far gone with his Trump Derangement Syndrome – but a real law enforcement professional by the name of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed on the same CNN program Sunday that the charges against Comey stem from a year-long investigation by several federal agencies including the FBI and the Secret Service. He also reminded viewers that the indictment was handed down by a grand jury after seeing the evidence.
