Barack Obama Beclowns Himself Again In Response to SCOTUS Voting Rights Act Ruling

It was as predicable as the sun rising in the morning and setting in the evening: Democrats losing their minds, or what’s left of them, after the Supreme Court rightfully struck down racially gerrymandered congressional districts Democrats imposed on the country for decades.

But one Democrat response was particularly galling, if for nothing else because of the absurdity of it. I’m looking at you, Barack Hussein Obama.

Earlier this month, the most divisive president in the history of our country praised and championed Virginia’s redistricting vote, calling it a great thing for “democracy” (a supposed constitutional law professor, Obama, who doesn’t seem to realize we’re a representative republic, not a “democracy”). If the vote stands, and there’s no reason to think that it will survive a Virginia Supreme Court decision, it would take four seats from Republicans and give them to Democrats, creating a 10D-1R congressional breakdown in a state that was 6D-5R and considered among the fairest congressional maps in the country.

But here was Obama’s response to the SCOTUS ruling:

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities – so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.

He then concluded:

Dear Americans, this shirt is for you!
It comes in mens and womens and lets your friends know you're happy to express your views and don't care what anyone thinks! Cheers!

The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers – not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

You can’t make this up. Number one, he glosses over the fact that creating voting districts strictly to give one race of Americans more power over everyone else is about as unconstitutional as it gets. But then he makes it sound as though black voters suddenly have no voice whatsoever, which if patently false. Then there is the fact that in Virginia, Democrats there destroyed Voting Rights Act districts in the process of gerrymandering their map.

Mind you, Obama was advocating for voters in Virginia to do this exact thing last week when they erased two VRA districts in favor of political gerrymanders. https://t.co/09rgjkHGO4

That, in effect, means that the map “diluted black votes across several districts to elect more white Democrats,” as former NRSC senior advisor Matt Whitlock noted:

If you were ever tempted to take Barack Obama’s racial fear-mongering as anything other than manipulation and opportunism, consider this…

The Virginia map that Barack Obama was the literal face of diluted black votes across several districts to elect more white Democrats. https://t.co/ECccFvQ814

Then, of course, there is the stereotypical Obama/Democrat hypocrisy – using a gerrymander to propel himself onto the national stage:

When I say that you should not take any pro-gerrymandering Democrat’s arguments on this issue seriously, I truly mean it. Historically, there has been no consistency in the claims they have made regarding this topic. This is why I applaud states like Texas and my own Missouri, for the moves they have made in recent months. President Trump did not initiate the gerrymandering conflicts; that began with Democrats, who have been engaging in it for decades, mostly without consequences.

Delete your account, Barry, shut your mouth, and go back to Mah-thuh’s Vineyard to enjoy your millions, you hypocrite.
