They were once the closest of friends, but now they may both be facing a political collapse. Eric Swalwell watched his career unravel before his very eyes. He didn’t last until the end of the weekend before he bowed out of the California gubernatorial race and stepped down in disgrace following multiple allegations of rape and sexual misconduct. Now, Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) must be feeling anxious, given the close association he’s had with Swalwell.
He held a press conference that turned out to be a disaster. During the event, he admitted he was aware of Swalwell’s reported creepy behavior, which he described as flirty with reporters. The media did not let this contradiction pass unnoticed, highlighting that the Arizona liberal had previously claimed he knew nothing about Swalwell’s tendencies. So, which is it?

It’s understandable why he attempted to get ahead of the situation: he has a history of alleged inappropriate behavior, which has earned him the nickname “the Troll.” Representative Anna Pauline Luna (R-FL) mentioned that there is a senator whom Majority Leader John Thune needs to address, and she formally named him in connection with what seems to be a possible human trafficking scheme:
