The result? Liberal strongholds like Chicago and New York quickly soured on the open-borders rhetoric. Neighborhoods that once prided themselves on being “sanctuaries” erupted in anger as migrants arrived by the hundreds. At bus stations and shelters, frustrated residents began shouting at officials and newcomers alike — proof that when the consequences of bad policy hit home, even deep-blue America loses its patience.
