The one main character flaw about socialists is that they are gigantic hypocrites when it comes to actually living the kind of life they imagine for everyone. But that trait lends itself to all of the others that make socialists and socialism one of the most enslaving, evil systems of governance ever devised: Socialist leaders provide themselves lives of luxury after stealing a nation’s wealth and leaving its people mired in misery and poverty, and then justify doing so with a lame excuse: ‘I’m more important because I’m a leader.’
All of this was on full display Wednesday evening during a Fox News segment. Anchor Bret Baier was interviewing the Senate’s quintessential socialist, multimillionaire Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and asked him why he flying round the country on a private jet while lecturing about fighting the “oligarchy” – the commie/Marxist/socialist term for “wealthy people.” His answer was as revealing as it was typical:
BRET BAIER, FOX NEWS: Alright, last thing. You know, Elissa Slotkin, Senator from Michigan, she said you shouldn’t be using oligarch, it’s over people’s head. You’ve gotten criticized from other people.
Free Beacon says Bernie Sanders spent $221,000 on private jets fighting the oligarchy tour, paid for by friends of Bernie Sanders. That you’ve spent millions of dollars in campaign funds on private jet travel over the years. How do you push back on both of those things?
SEN. BERNIE SANDERS: When’s the last time you saw Donald Trump during a campaign mode at National Airport?
BAIER: No, no, no. It doesn’t. But he’s also not fighting the oligarchy.
SANDERS: No. You run a campaign and you do three or four or five rallies in a week. The only way you can get around to talk to 30,000 people.
Think I’m going to be sitting on a waiting line at United, waiting, you know, while 30,000 people are waiting? That’s the only way you can get around. No apologies for that.
That’s what campaign travel is about. We’ve done it in the past, we’re going to do it in the future.
? JUST IN: Fox’s Bret Baier causes Bernie Sanders to get defensive when he calls out Sanders for flying on private jets while proclaiming to fight the “oligarchy.”
This is so good.

“Think I’m going to be sitting on a waiting line at United?” You mean, like all the little people, Bernie? Of course not! Waiting in long lines to board flights is not for the wealthy elitists like you, is it? And notice how he uses the excuse of his rally schedule to justify the kind of travel that less than 5 percent of the country can utilize. ‘Oh, it’s not my fault! I have to make it to those rallies on time!’ Yeah, let’s not schedule them so that you can make it on time by traveling on commercial flights.
And Trump’s a billionaire besides being president; only a socialist like Sanders would make the comparison that Trump’s not flying commercial, either, just to deflect from his own massive hypocrisy.
Folks, we’re not saying socialism is close to overtaking American constitutional democracy, but if it ever does, you can bet this is how it’s going to look: The same people who complained about “the 1 percent” will become “the 1 percent” and they’ll be just as elitist, if not more so, than the current 1 percent. The only difference is, if Sanders’ socialist ideology wins the day, democracy and freedom will die a quick, painful death, and the ‘tyranny’ he says exists now will actually exist. These people are dangerous, not ‘visionary.’
