New York AG Whines About ‘Gun Control’ After Queens Attack, Gets Quick Reminder

Text size

Far-left New York Attorney General Letitia James complained on social media on Thursday about a mass shooting in Queens over New Years Eve, calling for more “commonsense gun laws” despite the fact that the Empire State already atop the nation’s list of states with the most stringent firearms restrictions.

“This shooting in Queens last night is horrific. We need commonsense gun regulations in this nation to help end senseless gun violence. I hope the 10 wounded individuals recover quickly, and I urge anyone with information to immediately contact” the NYPD, James wrote before she was instantly ratioed by users to include a “Community Note” from X, which said:

New York State does, in fact, have some of the most stringent gun laws in the nation. New York has achieved an “A” from Giffords for the strength of it’s gun laws, 3rd strongest of the 50 states. But criminals willing to commit murder don’t care about gun laws.

X users wasted no time in ripping the anti-Trump AG.
