President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming “Border Czar” plans to identify and address federal employees who may attempt to obstruct efforts to strengthen security at the southern border. In an interview with The Daily Wire at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona, Tom Homan outlined his strategy to uncover potential challenges or “landmines” that may have been put in place by the Biden administration.
“They’re working very closely with the NGOs and other groups to try to increase the sanctuary city presence,” he explained. “They’re talking to major governors and mayors to try to thwart our efforts and a lot more mayors and governors speaking out say they’re going to try to prevent us from doing this job. They’re still flying thousands in every day.”
“I would think they [would] learn a lesson from the election,” Homan added. “They’re pouting. They’re mad. They’re kicking and screaming. You know what? Do what you want to do. Try to prevent us. We’re going to get this done with or without them. It’s coming. … We’ll crash through the roadblocks. We’re not going to let these people shut this down. We’re going to get this done.”
He then responded directly when he was asked about potential bad actors within the federal government who may be plotting to impede his and President-elect Trump’s immigration round-up and border enforcement efforts. “God help them,” he said. “Because we’ll be looking for those bad actors. Look, we pretty much know where the bodies are buried. We know who’s who. The president of the United States is coming up with an agenda.
“If you don’t like the agenda, then get another job. If you don’t get another job, we’ll get you another job. But the president’s not going to put up with this stuff,” Homan added. “We just had a resounding election where the American people want certain things done. Look, President Trump’s coming back. I don’t care if you like him or not like him. He’s a badass president who’s going to make America great again. He’s going to make America safe.
“This administration, the Biden administration that not only ignored the law, they’ve actually violated the law in many ways, and there’s going to be a lot of oversight investigation of what exactly happened in this administration,” Homan pledged.
