A Democratic congresswoman from Texas launched into a vile anti-white tirade during a House hearing this week, drawing comparisons from many political observers to enduring claims that her party breeds and condones blatant racism. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who lost a bid to become the House Democratic caucus’ chief messaging representative, made her remarks before the House Oversight Committee regarding a bill known as the “Dismantle DEI Act” — proposed by Texas Republican Rep. Michael Cloud. According to The National Desk, the bill aims to eliminate federal DEI programs, arguing that they effectively amount to a form of disguised racial discrimination.
“There has been no oppression for the white man in this country,” the ranting Crockett said during a two-minute address. “You tell me which white men were dragged out of their homes. You tell me which one of them was dragged across an ocean and told they were going to work, have their wives stolen, and have their wives raped. That didn’t happen. That is oppression.” Instead, she likened discrimination through DEI to managing an investment portfolio, suggesting it involves ensuring that different “investments” possess varying traits that “exemplify different strengths and weaknesses.”
“In finance, we always promote this idea of diversity,” she said. “If you know anything about a portfolio, the one thing that you want to do is make sure it’s as diverse as possible.” She drove the point home more directly, stating that those of us with only Nilla Wafers in our fridge could use some “chocolate cake and Twinkies” for variety. “It seems like you don’t understand the definition of oppression and I’d ask you to just refer to Google to help you out,” she said. “It is white men on this side of the aisle telling us, people of color on this side of the aisle, that y’all are the ones being oppressed, that y’all are the ones being harmed. That is not the definition of oppression.”

Meanwhile, far-left MSNBC’s online news division is facing intense backlash for publishing an article that appeared to humanize the illegal immigrant convicted of killing Georgia student Laken Riley, just one day after he was sentenced to life in prison without parole. According to the Daily Mail, outrage on social media grew rapidly over the piece, which focused on Jose Ibarra, a 25-year-old Venezuelan gang member living in the U.S. illegally. The article, penned by MSNBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos, ran under a headline suggesting Ibarra “never stood a chance” in court.
It detailed the overwhelming evidence against him, including DNA found under Riley’s fingernails, confirming a violent struggle. Riley, 22, was strangled near the University of Georgia campus during her morning run after Ibarra attacked her. A chilling 18-minute 911 call captured Riley’s desperate attempts to evade her attacker. The author suggested that it wasn’t the evidence that sealed Ibarra’s fate. “[F]or all the political controversy, the outcome of this trial was never in doubt,” Cevallos wrote, suggesting that the politics surrounding illegal immigration — not that Ibarra actually killed Riley — sealed his fate.
The perspective sparked massive and well-deserved criticism, including from Donald Trump Jr., after the article gained traction in conservative social media circles. “You literally can’t make up this level of depravity. These people are sick. The guy is a murderer. He’s an illegal alien that killed an innocent young woman but MSNBC would rather go to bat for him. However, much you hate MSNBC it’s not enough!” he posted on X with a graphic of the headline.

The outlet quietly pulled the headline after the backlash became intolerably tense, reports on Friday said. MSNBC’s updated headline read: “The Guilt of Laken Riley’s Killer Was Never In Doubt.”
