Former President Donald Trump recently made an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience as he intensified his campaign for the 2024 presidential election. With just days remaining before the election, Trump’s remarks have gone viral, amassing over 34 million views on YouTube within the first 48 hours. During the episode, Trump reminisced about his 2011 appearance on The View, which elicited a heated response from co-host Whoopi Goldberg.
In a dramatic segment on Monday, Goldberg passionately responded to Trump’s comments about that visit and what she believes he embodies today, opening the segment with her signature sarcasm and childishly avoiding saying Trump’s name: “So you know who made a campaign stop on the Joe Rogan podcast Friday night, and with all the issues Americans are going to be voting on, you know where they started the interview? Take a look.” She played a clip of Trump reminiscing about his 2011 appearance on The View, during which he described the visit as one where he received warm welcomes from the hosts.
Goldberg quickly challenged that portrayal, arguing that Trump’s memory was inaccurate., claiming, “That’s 2011, four years before he announced he was running, okay? That’s the first thing they got wrong.” The discussion intensified as Goldberg played clips from Trump’s visit. She emphasized that, despite Trump’s claims of receiving hugs from the hosts, she did not give him a “warm and fuzzy welcome.” Goldberg claimed that she was simply following Barbara Walters’ instruction to be polite to all guests, saying, “Did I look… warm and fuzzy? Was that a warm and fuzzy welcome for him?” Her co-hosts laughed as Goldberg remarked that her demeanor was far from enthusiastic during the visit.
She then went straight off the deep end with an over-the-top claim that Trump will destroy interracial marriages. “He’s not going to, you know, say ‘Oh, you’re with a white guy. I’m going to keep you from being deported.’ No. He’s going to deport and put the white guy with someone else!” Goldberg claimed. Goldberg’s co-hosts echoed the nonsensical claims including serial loon Ana Navarro, who described Trump as a “crybaby with a complex of victimhood.” Navarro added, “Here he is, this billionaire, supposedly, this and that. All he does is bitch and moan and complain and whine” — apparently not aware that she herself was bitching and whining about Trump.

Trump appears to be unfazed by the backlash. With Rogan’s interview with him being only two days old, the episode is likely to surpass others and become the number one episode. Trump and Rogan covered various topics, starting with the controversial presidential debate between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in September. Trump criticized debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, accusing them of showing clear bias.
The episode currently ranks just outside the top 10 most-watched episodes in the show’s 15-year history, with the highest being Rogan’s 2018 interview with Elon Musk, which garnered over 68 million views. Musk, who famously smoked marijuana during that episode, has also endorsed Trump in the current election. Trump’s interview has so far garnered more than 35 million views.
