A shocking new report claims that top Democrats and Democratic operatives planned for months to get President Joe Biden to drop out of his reelection bid, even vowing to “forcibly” remove him from office if need be, according to the New York Post.
The carefully planned “palace coup” intended to thwart Biden’s re-election efforts had been brewing for weeks. Despite this, Biden stubbornly resisted every attempt to persuade him to step down, according to a source intimately familiar with the president’s family who spoke to The Post. The insider clearly expressed Biden’s anger, paranoia, and frustration as the party elite surrounded him and increased the pressure.
The Post added:
Part of the “elaborate” strategy to remove Biden from the race — as he announced in a shocking letter posted on X Sunday — was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta. During the car-crash 90-minute debate, Biden appeared confused, slack-jawed and at one point froze up, with his performance turning the tide against him. “That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” the source said Monday.
As pressure mounted for him to step down, Biden maintained his stance, insisting he would persevere. However, leading party figures made it clear they would invoke the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution if necessary, The Post reported, citing the source. The amendment permits the vice president and cabinet members to declare that the president is unfit to serve and, therefore, forced to resign.
“Although Biden immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president, the source said Democratic delegates will be strongly encouraged to instead back Arizona Sen. and former astronaut Mark Kelly for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August,” the outlet reported.
Following the disastrous debate, Hunter Biden suddenly became more involved in his father’s business, insisting on attending every official and unofficial meeting, a source said.“Hunter felt he [Joe Biden] was being set up and he was very concerned about his father,” the source said. “These people, these officials were not on Joe’s side.” Also, Biden’s own staff was not warned prior to the bombshell decision to pull out of the race, despite the fact that it was known since at least Tuesday, the source said. “Everyone was totally shocked,” the source added. “It was pretty telling that Jill Biden tweeted a heart emoji and nothing else.”
Democratic Party insiders have been aware of Biden’s decline for at least two years, according to the source. “When I saw him a couple of years ago, it was frightening,” said the source. “He was just repeating slogans and had no idea who I was.”
