Georgetown University law school professor and noted legal academic Jonathan Turley gave a huge update on Monday regarding the future of former President Donald Trump’s historic felony conviction. Turley said during an interview segment on Fox News he believes the U.S. Supreme Court will ultimately overturn the conviction but that it won’t happen before the November election.

“Few people outside of Manhattan have a lot of faith in the New York system right now so far President Trump may have some slow sliding initially on appeal, and many of us see layers of reversible error here, and it could end up in front of the Supreme Court. I personally don’t see how this verdict can be sustained. I was in that courtroom, and I was shocked by how the court was ruling. I would hope that eventually — maybe not initially, that eventually, an appeal will prevail in the verdict will be thrown out,” he said.

After he was asked about the possibility of Trump’s case going before the U.S. Supreme Court before it reaches New York’s appellate courts, Turley responded: “You could certainly make that three-point shot. I would bet against it. The Supreme Court has ruled against Jack Smith trying to short-circuit his case against Trump. They basically said stay in the lane, stay with regular order. They’re probably going to take the same position here and say there’s a lot of issues here, get the New York courts a chance to do the right thing, and eventually the court will get it, but it is unlikely this will be resolved before the election.”

Top-rated SiriusXM podcaster Megyn Kelly ripped into Democratic prosecutors, politicians, and voters who supported the prosecution and conviction of former President Donald Trump in his ‘hush money’ case over a payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election – after New York and federal prosecutors and DAs previously found no cause to charge him.

“This whole scheme, and here it is the proper word, is corrupt. It’s a before and after moment for America. What just happened today is a line we can’t uncross, and these Democrats will rue the day they decided to use lawfare to stop a presidential candidate,” she said (see video below).

“I’m not talking about violence; I’m talking about tit for tat. You just wait, and it won’t be Hunter Biden next time; it’s going to be Joe Biden. It could potentially still be Barack Obama. It could still potentially be Hillary Clinton. We’re going to have to look at what the statutes of limitations are on the various crimes they surely committed,” Kelly predicted.

“We’re going to have to look at passing laws to revive those dead crimes, felonies, or misdemeanors so that those cases can be brought out of time. That’s what may be in the interest of justice, just like they did for E.J. Carroll with the New York State law that was passed so that she could sue him. That’s what happened,” she said. “Turnabout is fair play. And John Yoo, an amazing lawyer who worked in the Bush administration Department of Justice, has a great piece out today talking about how that’s the only way they’ll learn.”

“The only way to save the Republic now is to give them a taste of their own medicine. That’s it. That’s it. They tasted blood today. They’re the wolves with the bloody piece of meat in their mouths. That doesn’t stop the wolf from coming back for more. The only thing that will stop him is if he loses a limb of his own,” she went on.

“I’m sorry, but the Democrats started this game. In the same way, the Republicans upped the ante when it came to, for example, the filibuster fight. The Democrats got rid of it for lower court judges. Mitch McConnell said you will rue the day because we’re going to be in control of this chamber one day, and you’re going to lose the filibuster at the higher-level court, and you’ll be sorry. That’s what needs to happen here,” she continued.

“Who’s getting indicted next? Joe Biden? Maybe Jill Biden? How low can we go? You may not want to see it, but that ship has already left port. That horse has left the barn. That’s where we’re going,” she said. “So before you celebrate too much over at MSNBC and CNN, who are positively gleeful over this absurd conviction, you wait and ask yourself, ask yourself what kind of Pandora’s box has been opened here?
