Former President Donald Trump wasted no time in calling out President Joe Biden over a huge 2024 campaign issue after meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) at Mar-a-Lago on Friday.

In particular, Trump chastised Biden for reversing all of his border security policies and allowing unfettered illegal immigration, resulting in millions of people flocking into the country over the past three-and-a-half years.

“Our country is like a dumping ground, and we are going to have it stopped, and Biden should do it immediately, he should close the border immediately. He needs no legislation. He doesn’t need this gentleman [Speaker Mike Johnson], he doesn’t need anybody. He could do it — I did it without any legislation. I had the best border we had in ever, recorded history, he can close it immediately,” Trump told reporters after the meeting.

“If he had left — we had to stay in Mexico, remain in Mexico, we had catch and release in Mexico, not here, we had everything. It was perfect. It was a great — a great situation we had, and now we have the worst ever,” Trump continued.

“I don’t believe in the history of the world there has been a border like this. But we probably have 15 million people, and they come from places that you don’t want to know about, and they are going to be big problems, and it is getting worse. It’s migrant crime, it’s a new category of crime, migrant crime, and I am just demanding — as a citizen, I demand the border has to be closed. Our country cannot take it. No country could take it. It’s not sustainable by any country,” he said.

Last week, Trump took all the wind out of President Joe Biden’s sails with a huge event on Saturday night.

According to a report by CNN, the campaign of the former president has announced raising an astonishing $50.5 million at the Saturday fundraiser. This amount is almost double the record set by Biden’s campaign in New York last week, which raised $26 million at an event attended by former Presidents Bill Clinton and Obama.

Palm Beach, Florida, billionaire investor John Paulson hosted the “Inaugural Leadership Dinner.”

“Tonight will be an incredible night for President Trump and the Republican Party, raising an astounding $50.5 million,” Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, Trump campaign senior advisors.

“Meanwhile, after locking up the nomination in one of the fastest primaries in modern political history, Donald J. Trump is winning poll after poll and proving that the enthusiasm is on his side. It’s clearer than ever that we have the message, the operation, and the money to propel President Trump to victory on November 5.”
